How Sorcerer’s Apprentice pays homage to Fantasia
The thought of turning a beloved Mickey Mouse cartoon into a Jerry Bruckheimer action movie might not sit well with Disneyphiles, but the star of the live-action The Sorcerer’s Apprentice assured us that they haven’t screwed with the classic original too much. Prince of Persia: Le sabbie del tempo (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) un film d’avventura del 2010 diretto da Mike Newell e basato sull’omonimo videogioco per console. Il film uscir nelle sale cinematografiche di tutto il mondo il 28 maggio 2010. Trama Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) un principe di Persia del sesto secolo, che si allea con la Principessa Tamina (Gemma Arterton) per recuperare le Sabbie del Tempo, un dono degli dei per controllare il tempo, dalle mani del malvagio nobile Nizam (Ben Kingsley). Produzione I diritti del videogioco Le Sabbie del tempo sono stati acquisiti dallo studio cinematografico Jerry Bruckheimer Films nel marzo 2004, in collaborazione con la Walt Disney Pictures per la distribuzione cinematografica. Pochi mesi dopo l’inizio del progetto, sono stati assunti John August come produttore esecutivo e Jordan Mechner come sceneggiatore. Nel febbraio 2006, la Walt Disney ha incaricato Jeffrey Nachmanoff di riscrivere la sceneggiatura. A met 2007, sempre la Disney ha programmato provvisoriamente di rilasciare il film nel giugno 2009, nell’attesa di partire con la pre-produzione. Prima della messa in cantiere del film sono circolati rumors secondo i quali la regia dell’adattamento sarebbe stata affida a Michael Bay che lavorer con Newell.
